Our season begins July 1st and runs thru June 30th each year. Skaters are welcome to join any time during the season, however, we encourage joining in June so that members can take advantage of all the benefits of being in the Club.

NSC Learn to Skate (Beginners)

We provide opportunities to not only excel your skating career but also to have fun doing it! While our Club does not offer Learn to Skate lessons or any other group lessons, our home rink does! Most of our skaters start with and progress through NSC's Learn to Skate program and our working directly with a Coach to further their skating skills. When ready to start competing and testing with USFS, try a Home Club membership next! Standardized tests governed by USFA
Participate in USFS sanctioned events/competitions
Receive “Skating” magazine published by USFSA
Receive reduced rates for NBNSCFSC USFSA tests

Received 1st priority for NBNSCFSC hosted Exhibitions
Ability to vote at the annual banquet in May (16+ yrs)

Joining is a great way for younger skaters to grow their skating skills, develop lasting friendships and experience all that U.S. Figure Skating has to offer and for older skaters to try something new or to continue their skating journey! Northern Blades welcomes all skaters, from recreational to competitive and adult; as well as former skater members and skaters heading off to college!

Collegiate Membership

Applicable for any skater currently enrolled in college. For those former Club skaters who have held membership with the club for at least 4 seasons, and are heading to college, Northern Blades will pay for your collegiate membership as a benefit for continuing your love of skating while pursuing your education, which is good for 4 years! If you have been with our club for less than 4 seasons, the Club will charge $100 for your collegiate membership.

Adult Skater Membership

Adult skater memberships are for skaters over age 18 who do not qualify as a collegiate skater. This membership category does not require volunteer hours, but does not require fundraising.

Professional Membership (Coaches)

Want to coach with our club, or become an associate coach? Please reach out to our membership chair at membership@northernblades.org, or a current coach for any questions you may have.

Board Member Application

Please contact us if you would like to join the team! Board members are chosen each year at the Annual Banquet, but we are always looking for more help, and would love to train in new people throughout the season. Our board is made up of current parents of our youth members, and professional members of the club.
