New - Newest Board Member
Congratulations to our newest Board Member: Chris Gibson.
Chris is also our Test Chair so she is the one who will give approvals if you need to test at another rink – THANKS for arranging our upcoming test sessions! (See announcement below)
New - 2012 USFS Testing:
The next Northern Blades test session is scheduled for Monday, March 12th at 1-4pm. The application deadline is two weeks before the session, Feb 27th.
We are planning another test session in May (date TBD), as well as November 20th. For more information and the application form, please click the links below.

New - DRESS SALE:
Our Annual Dress Sale (and all things skating-related) will be held during Frosty Blades this year! Clean out those closets because there will be a lot of eager buyers! Look for the official details, along with the volunteer sign-up sheets with the Frosty Blades announcement. The Drop-off date will be the Saturday prior to Frosty – Saturday, Feb 4 at 8:30am – 12:00pm. Questions? Contact Sherry Lucas.

Sign-up to help now and get the best spots. Reminder that volunteer hours need to be completed by May 20th. Once you complete your initial required hours (10 hours for 1 skater, 15 hours for Family), every 5 additional hours will earn you an ice voucher for a free skate session!

Volunteer Ice Monitors Needed
Ice Monitors are needed for the Monday night Northern Blades ice sessons. This is another opportunity to gain volunteer hours before the membership year ends. The duties and responsibilities of the Ice Monitors are defined in this document.

Although we realize that not everyone has a Facebook account, many of our members do, so it will be one more place where we can post club information and offer fun notes congratulating our skaters on their successes. This tool may be used a lot, so please join and don’t miss out! Many thanks to our collegiate skater, Sarah Varian, for getting this group started and monitoring it.
Northern Blades Apparel
Are you looking for Northern Blades apparel? There are 2 approved styles for club warm-up jackets and pants. These items may be purchased from the Cutting Edge Shop located across from the off-ice room near Rink 6. Embroidery is purchased separately using this form or by picking up a form at the Northern Blades Bulletin Board near Rink 3. Embroidery orders may be given to Lauri Brachmann or Anna Leik.
